ABOUT TURKEY

Turkey is a vast country bordering eight other contries and surrounded by sea on three sides which makes country of at most strategic importance in the world.Turkey offers a rich and diverse cultural history with all sorts of scenic wonders and  Turkey is a unique bridge between Eastern and Western civilization.

Turkey is a new country in an old land. Turkey is the land  where the civilization began. Turkey, known as the cradle of civilization  ,hosted the first human settlement on its soil, which has been dated as 12.000 years old. Turkey is also the home of ancient cultures, including  the Hattis, Hittites, Phrygians, Urartians, Lycians, Lydians, Ionians, Persians, Macedonians, Romans, Byzantines, Seljuk's and Ottamans. Turkey is a unique  bridge between Eastern and Western civilization.

Turkey is a member of a variety of international organizations such as the United Nations, Concil of Europe, the North Atlantic Treaty Organizations  (NATO), Oganizations for Economic Cooperation and Development  (OECD) , Worl Trade Organization (WTO), and also a candidate for  full  EU membership.

Turkey is one of the most hospitable nations in the world. Turkish people welcome you with the words ‘ Hoş geldiniz ‘, literally meaning  ‘ your coming gives plesure'  .

Turkish food is famous throughout the world for its delicious fresh ingredients delicately spiced to bring out the flavours.  Sample starters (meze), homemade soups, meat and fish dishes,complimented with the the localy produced wine or the traditional Raki.

The unique climate along this coast (Mediterranean Sea and Aegean Sea coasts ) attracts those in search of a healtier life, with long hot summers complimented with generally short , mild winters.
